DAMIR ZAKHARTDINOV

“I started Willpower Wrestling because I wanted to share my experience with people to make their lives better.

After a 21 year international career, including 3 Olympic Games, 4th in 2000 and a bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships, Damir Zakhartdinov came to the United States to share his joy of wrestling.

In the last 20 years, Damir has coached many state champions, All-Americans, and successful international competitors.

ANDREW HUNTER

“Wrestling is the only sport that awards you points for getting back up when you get taken down. There’s nothing more important in life.

Stanford University wrestling alum. PAC 10 place winner. Coach Andrew brings 20 years of experience to Willpower building programs for Fortune 50 companies and high-profile not-for-profits.

He’s also parent to two Willpower wrestlers, one boy and one girl.

YURI VALENSKI

“There is rarely a reason to scold a wrestler. Every mistake deserves a question, ‘what do you think went wrong?’

The answer your wrestler gives you tells you the help they need.”

Yuri Valenksi is a legend.

Master of Sports of the USSR ( Greco Roman & Classic style). Honored trainer of the USSR and Ukraine. Coached 2x Olympic champion Alexander Kolchinskii. (Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980), among many other champions here in the U.S. and abroad, including Valentin Kalinka, former head coach for the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team.

“If you want to wrestle in college, you must learn American Folkstyle

NCAA Div. I All-American, Youth Olympic Games Place Winner, 2001 World Uzbekistan World Team Member, and local small business owner. Ravshan donates his time to the club helping our athletes learn American Folkstyle.

ALIHAN MAGOMEDOV

“Everyone should learn to wrestle.

Alihan is a local small business owner and wrestling parent. He’s the hub of our club community organizing events, pick-up practices, and off-season training.

If any community member has a question about what’s going on with Willpower Wrestling, Alihan will have the answer.
